The beach hamlet of Samara has all services - shops, groceries, bank, pharmacy, doctor, police, post office, car, scooter and bike rentals, tour operators, many varied restaurant choices, liquor store, hardware, computer repair etc.

We recommend flying into Liberia Airport serviced by Continental, American Delta and others. It’s a full service airport with all the car rental companies and its right here on the peninsula and an easy under 2 hour drive to Samara vs. the 5+ hour drive from San Jose on the congested Inter-American Highway.

As well we have a local, domestic airport here in Samara - Carrillo Airport - that links you to San Jose and a multitude of domestic destinations by Sansa Airlines and Nature Air. There is usually a taxi waiting when the plane lands.
